Can I create my own custom audiences?

Yes. While Auware’s AI suggests six audience segments for each campaign, you are not limited to those suggestions. You can add your own custom audiences based on your knowledge of your market, your advertising data, or any other insights you have about who buys your product.

How to Add a Custom Audience

In the Audiences step of the campaign wizard, you will see the AI’s suggestions along with an option to add your own audience. When you create a custom audience, you provide a name and description. The name should be specific and descriptive - something like “Corporate Gift Buyers” or “First-Time Parents Under 30” rather than a generic label like “Young Adults.” The description should explain who this audience is and what motivates their purchasing decisions, because the AI uses this description to generate the audience-specific landing page copy.

The more detail you put into your audience description, the better the AI can tailor the messaging. For example, instead of just “parents,” describe them as “first-time parents in their late 20s to early 30s who are overwhelmed by product choices and rely heavily on reviews and recommendations from other parents.” This gives the AI specific motivations, concerns, and language cues to work with.

Mixing AI Suggestions and Custom Audiences

You can use any combination of AI-suggested and custom audiences. Keep three of the AI’s suggestions, remove three, and add two of your own. Or remove all suggestions and create your own from scratch. The system is flexible - use whatever approach gives you the best audience mix for your campaign.

Custom Audiences Get the Same Treatment

Custom audiences go through the same generation process as AI-suggested audiences. Auware’s AI generates a complete, tailored landing page for each custom audience, adapting headlines, features, reviews, FAQ, and body copy based on the name and description you provided. You can then edit the generated copy in the WYSIWYG editor just like any other audience page.

When to Use Custom Audiences

Custom audiences are especially useful when you have first-party data about who actually buys your product. If your analytics show that a specific demographic or interest group converts at a high rate, creating a custom audience for them ensures you have a landing page that speaks directly to their motivations.

They are also useful for niche targeting. The AI’s suggestions tend to be broadly applicable segments, but you might know that your product has a passionate following among a very specific group - like “weekend marathon runners who meal prep on Sundays” or “small business owners who sell at craft fairs.” Custom audiences let you target those niches precisely.
