What is the onboarding checklist and how does it help me get started?

When you first sign up for Auware, you will see a Getting Started checklist that guides you through the setup process step by step. This checklist is personalized based on your role - store owners, admins, editors, and viewers each see different steps relevant to their responsibilities.

The onboarding checklist appears in three places: as a full-page walkthrough when you first log in, as a collapsible card on your dashboard, and as a “Getting Started” item in the sidebar navigation with a badge showing how many steps remain.

What the Checklist Includes

For Shopify store owners, the checklist walks you through:

  • Store connection - Confirming your Shopify store is connected (this is often already done if you installed from the Shopify App Store)
  • Brand detection - Verifying that Auware detected your brand colors and identity from your store theme
  • Product import - Checking that your product catalog has been imported
  • Account confirmation - Completing your profile details
  • Account security - Setting up two-factor authentication or passkeys to protect your account
  • Team invitation - Inviting team members if you work with others
  • Reviews connection - Connecting a review provider (Judge.me, Okendo, Vitals, Reviews.io, or BazaarVoice) so you can import social proof
  • Integrations - Connecting optional integrations like Meta Ads or Shutterstock

Many of these steps complete automatically. For example, if Auware detects your brand colors from your Shopify theme, that step marks itself as done. If you already have products in your catalog, the product import step completes on its own. This means you may find several steps already checked off when you first see the checklist.

For invited team members, the checklist is shorter and focused on profile completion and account security, with fewer steps for editors and viewers than for admins.

Once you complete all the steps and create your first campaign, the checklist disappears and you are fully set up. You can also skip individual steps if they are not relevant to your workflow right now.
